Hailing "from parts unknown", the sister duo, Xylaroo, specialize in acoustic/indie/folk music. Coco and Holly Chant are originally from Papua New Guinea and have traveled and lived in parts of Asia and Europe and now, for the time being, call London home. Their latest tracks, a cover from Arctic Monkeys, "I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor" and "Sunshine" are both slightly distorted acoustic charmers. The Arctic Monkey's cover left me questioning why I haven't listened to them recently with the urge to do is dance to electropop like a robot from 1984. "Sunshine" is Xylaroo's introduction to the world record and sets a perfect bar of "sweet harmonies & down-to-earth lyricism" that everyone can love. Be sure to keep up with Xylaroo in 2016 as they may be the "next big thing" in the genre.
Currently Xylaroo are going on tour with Matt Berry & The Maypoles until the 10th throughout London. If you're in the UK, I'd urge you to go and check out this duo and see them at their start because the sky is the limit for these sisters.
