theWHOevers Respond to Haiyan Relief Efforts

CHICAGO - Classified as one of the strongest storms ever recorded, Super Typhoon Haiyan devastated the Philippines on Nov. 8th, obliterating anything in its path. The aftermath of its power left thousands displaced, injured, hungry, thirsty, and with nothing to show except their uplifting spirits. Around the world, everyone has been doing their part as humanitarians in efforts to aid in the relief for the Philippines, and it should be our duty to respond with empathy and lead by example. As such, Filipino-American emcees Dotkom and J.Arthur (of the hip hop collective, theWHOevers) , rally to aid relief efforts currently underway by the Jose P. Rizal Heritage Center of Chicago (1332 W. Irving Park Rd.), a center in connection with the Filipino American Council of Greater Chicago.

Together with various artists, from across the city and beyond, the duo has pledged to donate partial proceeds from their December 6th Album Release Party to benefit a community and country they both represent and love. For only $10, this 18+ show, presented by GroundLift Media will include performances from some of Chicago’s up and comers, including theWHOevers, Markyboy, Fess Grandiose, and Martin $ky. Ticket holders are in for yet another treat with a special guest performance by Los Angeles emcee, Bambu (of Native Guns).

Tickets are on sale now at LincolnHallChicago.com or by messaging theWHOevers on Facebook or Twitter.
