PopChartLab Presents The Hip-Hop Flow Chart

Popchartlab.com has ranked a list of rap artists by the size of their vocabulary placing Jay-Z and Busta Rhymes at top among others like Childish Gambino, Ludacris and GangStarr.

Who boasts the most Brobdingnagian (i.e., biggest) vocabulary in hip-hop? Featuring 100 meticulously hand-drawn MC effigies, this chart of lyrical locution analyzes the lexical freshness of nearly every rapper of repute—including Drake, the Wu-Tang Clan and cult favorite Aesop Rock—tabulating the number of unique words used in each artist’s first 35,000 lyrics (roughly equal to 3-5 albums). What's more, each of these virtuosos of verse is then color-coded by their area of origin—all adding up to a fun, flava-ful flow chart that’s equally at home on the wall of a hip-hop habituĂ©, etymology enthusiast or die-hard data junkie.

Produced and expanded in conjunction with Matt Daniels, and adapted from his original "Largest Vocabulary in Hip-Hop." Each print is signed and numbered by the artists from a first printing of 500, and comes packaged in a Pop Chart Lab Test Tube. See the menu to the right for finishing options, and note that framed prints require an additional 3-4 business days of processing time.

Using 100 lb. archival stock certified by The Forest Stewardship Council, this poster is pressed on an offset lithographic press with vegetable-based inks in Long Island City, Queens.
