Doomtree Announces 10th & Final Blowout

Today Doomtree announced the Last Blowout Ever; this year’s will be the tenth and final installment. Although the crew is going strong (with a record due at the top of 2015), they’ve decided to retire the annual concert series—and the finale is larger than anything they’ve done yet: 10 events in 8 days at venues across the Twin Cities.

Starting on 12/6 Doomtree will kick off the week at the Turf Club with a 21+ show.  The 7th will be a special Surly Doomtree Day in conjunction with Surly Brewing. Many more details on that creative collaboration coming soon. Monday the 8th will be a 21+ show at Icehouse that features Doomtree side projects. Tuesday will be all about the kids: Doomtree members will visit local schools, crashing preschool story time and a high school media center.  In the evening, they’ll play an all-ages show at the Triple Rock.  Wednesday, 12/10 marks the 10-year anniversary of the original Doomtree Blowout—a decade to the day—so why not go back to its original location? The crew will be performing an 18+ show at the Varsity Theater that night and, as an added bonus, tpt will be there taping a new episode of their The Lowertown Line music series.  Then Thursday through Saturday, Doomtree will return to First Avenue’s Mainroom to close out the week. At noon before the Friday show, they’ll head into The Current’s UBS Forum for an interview and performance in front of a live audience.  This year’s Blowout is sponsored by The Current, Vita.mn, and Surly.

Ticket pre-sales begin at 10am Thursday, October 2nd.  (Fans can still join the mailing list here to get in on the early chance to buy.) Public on-sale starts at noon on Friday, October 3rd.  As always, Doomtree will be selling tickets in person at The Depot on Friday, the 3rd starting at 4:30pm.  This year a limited number of badges will be available which will grant access to all of the shows (must be 21+ to purchase).  A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit local charities including: The Animal Humane Society, Southside Family Nurturing Center, Hope Community Center, DAP, and Kicker Project.
