DoomTree Announces "The DoomTree Zoo" + Tour

DOOMTREE announces the DOOMTREE ZOO, an all-day event at CHS Field, the new ballpark of the St. Paul Saints, with performances from Doomtree, Aesop Rock with Rob Sonic, Trash Talk, Shabazz Palaces and Open Mike Eagle. October 3rd, 2015. 2-10pm. CHS Field, 360 N Broadway St, St. Paul, MN 55101. Presented by Surly Brewing Co. and Copycats Media.

Doomtree, the Minneapolis rap collective, sold out an entire decade of their annual Blowout label showcases. Last December, over 7,000 fans attended the final Blowout, some from as far away as Ireland and Russia. Now, after many months spent internationally touring their most recent album, All Hands, the seven-member collective is coming home to announce their next big Twin Cities special event: the DOOMTREE ZOO.

THE ROSTER
Doomtree (Cecil Otter, Dessa, Lazerbeak, Mike Mictlan, P.O.S, Paper Tiger and Sims) will headline the show. The crew worked together to hand-pick the rest of the bill, a process that took many months, many meetings, innumerable text threads, secret ballots, and a three-digit trail mix budget. The lineup reflects the varied musical tastes of the Doomtree members themselves: Aesop Rock with Rob Sonic, Trash Talk, Shabazz Palaces, Open Mike Eagle, Serengeti, Aby Wolf, Koo Koo Kanga Roo, and Anonymous Choir.

THE GIG
The DOOMTREE ZOO will go on rain or shine. The stage itself will be set on the grass of CHS Field, the new home of the St. Paul Saints, in Lowertown St. Paul. The afternoon performances will be kid-friendly, with face painting and roving performances by In the Heart of the Beast Theatre puppeteers between sets. (Skip the sitter for this one. Or better yet, bring the sitter. Children 8 and under get in free.) As darkness falls, the sets get rowdier, the noise gets noisier, and the lights come up (Doomtree is again partnering with Toss Film + Design who made the last few Blowout shows at First Avenue the visual spectacles that they were. When these guys aren't scheming with us, they're working with other up-and-comers like Kanye, Nine Inch Nails, and Fleetwood Mac.).

THE TICKETS
Tickets go on sale to the public on Saturday, August 1st at 11am CST. Members of Doomtree will be selling tickets hand-to-hand at the CHS Field box office from 11am-1pm, so swing through to say hello and get a glimpse of the ballpark. Online, tickets will be available for purchase HERE

A very limited number of BALLER PASSES are also available. Pass-holders will be able to enter the stadium before doors to watch the Doomtree soundcheck; get a photo with the crew and participate in a Q&A; score an autographed poster, a Doomtree drawstring bag, a couple of drink tickets, and a Doomtree Zoo laminate (oooh, fancy).
