Cool Uncle, the newly-formed cross-generational duo of R&B legend (and Dilla-sample mainstay) Bobby Caldwell and 10-time Grammy nominated producer Jack Splash, have announced a self-titled debut album slated for release via Fresh Young Minds on November 13th. Characteristic of the masterminds' diverse backgrounds the end result is fifteen cuts rooted in classic soul that are unafraid to take wild diversions into funk, hip hop, and rock while featuring guest spots by an amazing cross-cut of their respective rolodexes, including Mayer Hawthorne, Cee-Lo Green, Eric Biddines, Jessie Ware, JD8, and the legendary Deniece Williams. Pitchfork have just shared an advance single "Break Away", a duet between Caldwell and UK pop sensation Jessie Ware; a sensual ballad steeped in soul and groove.
