Detroit-based MC Red Pill follows up the release of his Mello Music debut Look What This World Did To Us with the Day Drunk EP. The 6-track project includes production from Paul White, Alex Goose, Hir-O, Oddisee, Exile, and Red Pill himself as well as a feature from Blu. It can be described no better than by an unnamed source who writes:
"Maybe it’s the EP’s finale and title track that captures the contradictions at the heart of the music. It's a eulogy to the summertime, a drinking song undercut by premonitions of doom, a reminder for us not to waste the days until our funeral—a toast to day drinking to forget our own collective pain."
