Before getting his big break with Rawkus Records and forming Black Star with Talib Kweli, Mos Def now known as Yasiin Bey, was a a member of group Urban Thermo Dynamics along side DCQ and Ces as well as a peripheral member of the collective the Native Tongues with Jungle Brothers, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest and many more. Back in 1994 when he first started out, he made an appearance on a Toronto Hip Hop documentary "Make Some Noise", during a radio interview/cypher on The Power Move CKLN 88.1 radio show and does his signature off the top freestyle.
