Emcee and producer Renima of the Brooklyn born collective Sus/Life comes to us with the first single "Billyclubs" from his recently dropped debut tape "Suspect.90: Lost Kids". Of the track he says:
"My mom always felt she had to remind me that I'm a black male. My skin is the deal breaker between being understood and being killed. Black parents have to teach their children to live in fear of walking around in their own communities. I've been taught that I'm never safe. I've been taught to compress my style, my emotions, my actions and to never have overreactions. They like when you overreact.
"Billyclubs" are the weapons they used to hit us with first. Now they just shoot us first.
