BANY members Blue November and Contour team up to bring us "Impulse." The murky production is voluminous, consuming a full scope of tonal planes, given a touch of the exotic through the sampling of a what seems to be a sitar. Blue November's measured flow imbues his defeated lyrics with an ironically meditative quality. Anyone who has experienced passion's practice of fading fast as freckles will feel a piercing sense of empathy as Blue November recites his hopeless hook.
