OG Bayce Cannibal Cameron Butler drops Dark Days, via Born Again New York Records. This is Butler's third full-length project, preceded by All Part of The Plan and Bootleg. As evidenced by the title, Dark Days finds Butler in a murky mental state, with a bolstered propensity for prophesizing doom and gloom. That being said, it is by no means a divergence from the path Butler embarked on with his first two projects. Anyone surprised to find Butler wallowing within dark days hasn't been keeping their ears keen enough to catch the meaning behind his dense, hypnotic lyricism.
The grimy lo-fi production comes almost exclusively from Butler save track nine, "Insane," which finds Wonge behind the beat pad. The project's features are scarce but strong, comprised of a Wonge reprise and a couple of Mutant Academy verses from the likes of Henny L.O. and Fly Anakin. Gather some loose change from your couch cushions and cop your copy of Dark Days on Bandcamp today.
