As the latest addition to the Tommy Boy legacy, Brown Bag allstar and lyrically talented as well as humerous styled Soul Khan, returns in 2016 with his latest visual treatment to the J57 produced cut"Shine". Taking a more pop approach, Khan shows off his vocal range while entertaining us with a funny look into a business education presentation.
"This video came together when my friend and brilliant comic, Jermaine Fowler, asked to direct a video for me. Jermaine pitched the idea of a terrible motivational speaker to contrast the earnest message of the song. 'Shine' is about meaningful acceptance of who you are, flaws and all, without deflection or disregard for our differences, not hollow self-help soundbytes. Making the video was as much fun as the song was difficult to write. I was lucky to be able to involve my talented friends and even my sister, which enabled us to really embed ourselves in the story. I also am proud to have replicated a scene from 'Beat It' with staplers."
