Canadian up comer Emay comes correct with the lead single "Israfil" or “angels trumpet" off his self-produced debut LP 'Ilah', out later in 2016. The dope track sees EMay explore his conflict with society’s expectations upon him as an artist and an everyday worker trying to “make it”.
"I chose to use a handful of Arabic words and terms on the album due to my Islamic background and my struggle with being a Muslim throughout my life. The idea of God is a major theme throughout the album. The entire project is essentially my development in thought from early life to now. Trying to find the Objective. In the sense that I’m searching for purpose in trying to see the world more objectively from a subjective standpoint.
