Harlem-born, Houston-based youngster Gene Fisher comes through with the debut single off of his upcoming freshman project WAVES. Self-proclaimed Lo-Fi Trap, Fisher enlists idntrmmbr to deliver some dusty, stripped down production setting a mellow mood for him to spit some equally effortless verses about the world around him. And what he sees around him is violence. With that in mind, the track aims at exposing the regrettably necessary practice of being on guard at all times during the winter season on account of increased crime rates.
The first verse explores the mentality of most young gunners in cities while the second outlines how Fisher reacts to such conditions. Sandwiched between the two is a high-energy sixteen from The Crosfather. Press play and catch the infectious hook as Fisher methodically chants "crushed Xan and a swisher / after that don't remember / better stick with your mans in the winter / better keep heat packed in the denim." But keep in mind, these lines are ones of mourning, not celebration.
