TGDJ - The Color & Sound (REVIEW)

Coming forward with his debut concept album, NY Producer TGDJ is definitely living up to the pre-conceived notion that I have of his sound, having heard his production on PA MC 'Zen Gnarly'(s) two mixtapes 'Golden' and 'ASCNDR: Rad Beingz'. His album lives up to it's name 'The Color & Sound' with the healthy expression of color and mello vibes. The intro track 'White' (Alone) ft. Corey Gipson sets the tone for the 1st half of this 8 track album, coming through with wavy, lavish, smooth, riding music. Tracks 5 'Orange' (Change) and 6 'Black' (Alone Again) don't set, but are the tone of the 2nd half of this project with their cloudy, melodic sounds. For an album that's short, sweet and straight to the point, there's definitely an aspiring ambition, hunger and determination with the obvious influences of Drake's 'Take Care' and Kanye West's 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy'. An enjoyable, that is perfect for the summer.
