» » Hieroglyphics Celebrates 5th Year Of Hiero Day

Hieroglyphics Imperium proudly presents their 5rd Annual Hiero Day on Monday, September 5, 2016 (Labor Day) from 11:00AM-7PM at 3rd and Chestnut in West Oakland.

Hiero Day is an all-day, all-age music festival, showcasing over 25 live performances on 3 different stages by both local and renowned artists in genres such as hip-hop, rap, R&B, and more with the legendary hip-hop collective Hieroglyphics headlining the festival; and additional performances from Too Short, Juvenile, Just Blaze, Asher Roth, Murs, Mr. Lif, Dilated Peoples, Paris, Lyrics Born, Young L (The Pack) and many more. Activities and entertainment include dancing, shopping from local vendors, and even a kid-friendly area complete with bounce houses, face painting and more. Public transportation is highly encouraged, as parking is extremely limited. The festival is conveniently located a short walk from the West Oakland BART station!

After the success of the Hiero Day’s first festival in 2012, former Oakland Mayor Jean Quan declared September 3rd as “Hiero Day” in the City of Oakland. This year’s festival holds particular significance to Hieroglyphics as it marks the 5th year of producing Hiero Day in their hometown of Oakland California as independent artists. Visit www.hieroday.com for ticketing information, as well as updates on performances, vendor information, festival activities and sponsorship and volunteer opportunities.

While Hiero Day was previously a free event, charging a low-cost admission was introduced last year to allow for a controlled, safe environment for attendees. With Hiero Day in its 5th year in production, 2016 marks the biggest and best Hiero Day yet! $19.93 per ticket for an all-day, three stage event with dozens of vendors and over 25 musical acts is the greatest festival bargain for any summer festival. (Prices are valid for pre-sale only and will be higher at the door.)

If you are interested in attending and or covering the 5th annual Hiero Day Festival and want press/photo passes, or would like to speak with Hiero about the festival please let me know and I will gladly facilitate.
