Madchild of the group Swollen Members has been representing Hip Hop to the fullest for more years than you may realize. He has been pumping out his specific style of lyrical gems, wrapped around classic Hip Hop beats via his label Battle Axe Records and his group Swollen Members. He was one of the first artists out of Canada to hook up with underground heads out of California like Evidence and The Dilated Peoples years ago.
He has linked up with his long time friend Evidence on the track "Write It Down". The track is off his upcoming album "The Darkest Hour", dropping March 9th. Evidence doesn't add vocals as you may have expected. He gets behind the boards and puts on his producer hat. Evidence lined up an ivory tickling piano sample that works beautifully with the banging drums. He also mixed in some audio from video clips to solidify the overall vibe of the track.
Madchild lets us know where he stands lyrically, using clever lines to express his pen game.
