J. Period Releases A New Track From New Project "Rise Up!" featuring Xzibit & Rhymesfest

Producer J.Period is involved in the music side of the docu-series "America Divided', which delves into social justice issues. He is releasing an album inspired by the series, using music to touch on the same topics. It's like a musical representation of the series. There are many artists involved in the project including Black Thought, Posdnous from De La Soul, Pharoahe Monch and Rhymefest. J. Period has released a track titled "Miranda" from the project, featuring Rhymefest and Xzibit. Actor Jesse Williams does the intro setting the tone for track. Rhymefest and Xzibit get into the social injustices that are happening at the expense of the poor in America. If this is a taste of what the album is going to be like, it will be on my list to check out.

There's a lot of socially conscious music coming out right now. People have a lot to say after the US elections and other issues that are so prevalent now. Hip Hop is a great way to stay knowledgeable on social issues.
