After dropping three independent albums, two EPs and a mixtape, LiKWUiD partners up with 2 Hungry Bros. to release her first label effort through HiPNOTT Records, titled, Fay Grim. The 13 track effort fuses elements of hip-hop, future sounds, afrobeat, jazz, gospel and spoken word with topics such as race relations, friendships, self-doubt, abortion and self-acceptance.
Featured appearances on Fay Grim are listed as DJ Evil Dee of Black Moon, label mates Donwill of Tanya Morgan + P.SO the Earth Tone King. As the title suggests, Fay Grim can be an allusion to the “darkness, depression and ultimately death” or “the light and the despair” one experiences. While the rest of the country is teetering and tottering towards the shadowy end, LiKWUiD’s newest project aims to balance it all out.
