Blending funky guitar, bass, and keys to depict the harsh realities of growing up in urban Detroit, artist Info releases the aptly titled “Inner City Mexican”. The track is an appetizer to Southwest, the debut instrumental album by the producer/MC. Raised in Mexican culture but surrounded by a city with a rich, soulful legacy, the diversity of influences is clear in “Inner City Mexican”, and indeed is one of the album’s motifs. Southwest is a 40-minute journey into the sound and emotion of Detroit, experienced through Info’s eyes and ears.
