Wrekonize - Nightmare (Video)

With his new solo album Into The Further coming up on May 5th on Strange Music, Wrekonize, from ¡Mayday!, has released his haunting new video or “Nightmare. The video takes fans on a journey deep into the psyche of the Strange Music emcee, as he flexes his lyrical abilities while trapped in a nightmare.

"I had a lot of fun making this song because this style of production felt like a new addition to my wheelhouse. The pattern of the verses is also something I've heard used before but never tried and always wanted to," said Wrekonize about the track. "When I first heard the track it instantly gave me the idea to pattern the verses in that way to create a hypnotic feel. Also, the track was helmed by Streetrunner who's not only a longtime collaborator of mine, he's also a Miami native as well, so overall the experience was positive."

Delving deeper into the psyche of Wrekonize, Into The Further showcases his diverse stylistic approach to lyrical storytelling, giving you a look behind the shades of one of Strange Music's most proficient MC's. With stellar production and tracks like "With The Music On", "Nightmare (Yeah)" and "Unknown Number", Into The Further is a brand new doorway to the realm of an evolving artist who's truly battle tested.

When ¡Mayday! rapper Wrekonize reflected upon his solo Strange Music debut album, 2013’s acclaimed The War Within, the Miami artist realized he wanted to build upon his previous project while also taking things deeper. He wanted to continue exploring his subconscious as well as the ideas and music floating there.
Thus, Wrekonize’s forthcoming Into The Further album, which, like its predecessor, is inspired by the 2011 horror film Insidious, a movie in which a family looks to prevent evil spirits from trapping their comatose child in a realm called “The Further.”
