History - Groupies (Feat. Radamiz & Adrian Daniel) (SINGLE)

Not all modern New York City Hip-hop has to be boom-bap. Case in point, History: the Bedstuy born rhymer who's "Sun Of A Roc-a-fella" project made me a lifelong fan. History does a great job of fusing bassier trap influences with the old school soul that's kept New York the heart of hip-hop culture, never serving up anything that sounds dated or too rooted in the past. That being said, he's also never afraid to dive into a juicy lo-fi soul sample styled instrumental, and on his latest single "Groupies (Ft. Radamiz and Adrian Daniel) History does it again, merging the best of old and new in a certified NYC modern classic.

Anyone who's heard "Bad and Boujee" can wing a "yeah" flow, but not many can bust so many creative lines around that trendy scheme of the moment as History does on his opening verse. And the rhymes from standout NYC artist Radamiz? Come one."Gettin pussy with the features that god gave us / take a look in the mirror and I saw greatness." Ridiculous. Play that new singe "Groupies" back and enjoy, this is NYC underground hip-hop at it's best.
