Perish is VERY different sonically than most rap albums. Phantoms, the 2nd track on the album, is a perfect example of HatePH34R's sound; it has a catchy hook, aggressively fast rapping, dark lyrical content and it showcases his screams as well as a guest verse from Nacho Picasso.
Other tracks like You Couldn’t Stay illustrate the range and flexibility HatePH34R has as a vocalist. You Couldn’t Stay is much softer and emotionally heavy, with a chorus sung by himself and a guest feature by Early Adopted. The lyrical content of the album ranges from nerdy references to dark introspective lines about loss and other issues.
