Oregon Rapper Amsterdam Taps Skyzoo, Kourtni Perez, and More For "Crush" (Album)

Fresh off his performance at Portland’s prestigious monthly THESIS event as part of his crew Both Teams Played Hard, Northwest emcee Amsterdam returns with his first full-length effort in nearly five years.

‘Crush’ is a deep dive commentary into the complicated world of contemporary romance, from the way we deal with break-ups in the social media age to navigating the intimidating sea of seemingly endless options afterwards. At just nine songs over 30 minutes, it’s the perfect record to listen to as you wait for the object of your desire to not text you back.

After Amsterdam connected with Bay Area-based producer Tope in Austin, TX at the SXSW Music Festival, the two connected for two singles (“Danny Ainge” and “Never Rains”) that would serve as the foundation of the album. ‘Crush’ also includes features from Brooklyn legend Skyzoo and local Bend singer Kourtni, as well as classic soulful boom-bap production from Portland producer Trox.

‘Crush’ is available on all music platforms starting January 9th. You can find more from Amsterdam on Instagram and Twitter by following @amsterdamallday. Get a head start by streaming the title track using the links below.
