In the past, I was part of a duo that wrote arrangements for TDE & Dreamville artists. While on the road for Cole's tour in 2017, I lost my mom; afterwards I decided to go by Jasminfire and took 18 months off the beaten path to make this project. The title
was her nickname for me. This project is a pastiche of musical influences and life experiences-- It is inspired by Alice Coltrane, Phillip Glass, Miles Davis, and my inner sound shaped from years
of playing classical violin and avoiding jazz until my adult years.
When I shared this project on 6.21.2019, so many people responded that the music took them on a real journey and evoked tears and emotions. I would say it has a special effect on listeners, as I put all my pain and love into this and humbly share it with
you.
