New England is represented well every time Al Divino drops a track. The Massachusetts emcee and his aggressive demeanor resonates with the underground crowd hungry for a boom-bap-ish revival. "Fishscale" is no different. Divino channels his sentiment through a gritty master and ice cold production. DJ Mastamind, fresh off of his Inca Face Killah beat tape, lets the drums kick with an eery sample ringing in the framework.
Shot by Mercenary Films, Divino can be seen rattling off bars in front of grimy warehouse corners and freight elevators. The scenes set the tone for the hostility of the record at hand.
