As his first release since 2016's Hurry Up and Buy, ZIGGY's new KriKit Boi produced LP Khakis represents an opportunity for the San Jose based MC to reintroduce himself. And the video and single "Serio" may be the best version of ZIGGY we've seen yet.
Blending the hometown appeal and charm of "DFW" with the authentic choreography and approachable video style of "Emotional," "Serio" is a strong combination of what's worked for ZIGGY in the past. But the track again represents another big leap forward for the San Jose rapper; we've been following his rise and buzz in the Bay Area throughout the year, and can guarantee that if he keeps growing artistically at this rate, ZIGGY is destined to put San Jose on the map globally. "Serio" has an offkilter charm that's irresistible and as much a throwback to the nostalgic sounds of the West Coast past as it is a warm entry into California's current rap renaissance: a remix would sound just as natural featuring Anderson .Paak and School Boy Q as Snoop and The Eastsidez.
